Dried Up

A jungle once huge and blooming
Which became a a dried up desert
Where once was lushness with birds cooing
But the rain went away, seemingly forever

I stroll through the desert, searching on my way
Is there a well, a pond, a tiny spot of rain?
The sun burns through me, the heat eats me up
Fever kills my brain, but, hey, my heart, what's up?

In this dried up desert of reality I crawl on the ground
But look! there, far away, a glimmer of hope can be found
Is that a cloud? Is it an oasis? Or perhaps a river?
Is that really water?
Eating away this dried up desert,
Building up the jungle
Again.

Will the jungle survive?
A tree always does.
